These are the rules for the BEEMAIL Echo. This echo is intended for civilized, mature discussion. Personal attacks and vilification are not permitted. General nature of the echo: 1) The topic of this echo is the Beemail GUI FidoNet BBS System. Please try to keep all discussions on that topic. Some limited discussion of hardware problems as they relate to Beemail is acceptable. 2) All discussions shall be of a technical nature only. 3) No "My-Mailer-Can-Beat-Your-Mailer" messages. 4) Departures from the above will be considered annoying behavior. 5) The BEE-LIST Mailing list is gated to this echo bi-directionally. All FTN posts here will be gated out. 6) This Echo must not be gated to any other Network without the prior consent of the moderators. 7) A copy of these rules will be available from The Ready Room CBIS. Tone of the echo: 1) This is supposed to be a friendly area, so please treat others with respect. This is a mandatory requirement for all. 2) Profanity is unnecessary - please avoid using it. Check your flamethrower at the door. 3) Humour is encouraged. Nastiness masquerading as humour will be considered annoying behavior. 4) Use of emoticons (smileys and such) are encouraged, in order to clarify places where humour, sarcasm and such are used. 7) Be slow to respond to messages that anger you. If you really want to call someone names, take it to netmail. 8) Be quick to help and encourage other participants. Usefull and Useless Info: 1) The BEEMAIL homepage is sited at http://beemail.gexonline.com 2) The BEEMAIL FTP site is ftp://beemail.gexonline.com 3) The gate between BEEMAIL echo and the BEE-LIST mailing list is gated at The Ready Room CBIS (1:3830/5). The software used is in Beta Testing at this time. Echo mail is gated out to the mailing list and replies are gated back. An archive is maintained of all list mail. Message content: 1) Use your *REAL* Name only! If all else fails sign your real name at the end of your message. This may be waived by prior consultation with the moderators if you can send a convincing explanation via netmail. 2) Stay on topic. No discussions of other Mailers or general hardware problems, no buying/selling/trading/pirating/enslaving/bartering in the Beemail echo. 3) Discussions of hardware issues related to Beemail are acceptable. Non-related hardware discussions are off-topic. 4) High-bit ASCII characters are not allowed. 5) Minimize your quoting -- Help stamp out QUOTAHOLISM! Along those same lines, avoid multi-line signatures and other space wasters. However, do quote enough that we will know what you are responding to -- a collection of "Huh, what are you talking about" messages also waste space. 6) Try to make the subject of your message bear some relationship to what you are talking about. If you change the topic, change the subject to reflect this. 7) No discussion of illegal activities, this should be obvious. 8) No test messages; no responses to test messages except from the moderators. There are local message areas where testing is appropriate, so don't test in the Beemail echo. 9) No responses to off-topic messages or flames, except from the moderators. Leave the moderating of this echo to the moderators, it's what we get paid the big bucks to handle. ;-) 11) If you wish to challenge a moderator's decision, do so via email or netmail. --=_173.gate.rex_= Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name="MOD" Content-Transfer-Encoding: Base64 Content-Disposition: inline; filename="MOD" --=_173.gate.rex_= Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name="RUL" Content-Transfer-Encoding: Base64 Content-Disposition: inline; filename="RUL" --=_173.gate.rex_=--
