CHRIST_NET Policy updated 17/05/97 by Harold Robbins, Moderator. CHRIST_NET - National Network Conference Message Base (A private Echo) I. PURPOSE: (see note 3.) a. To Glorify Jesus Christ through word and prayer over a computer network. b. To Study with openness, Agape Love, and understanding the Word Of God, the Bible. c. To Share the Christian Experience with others of like faith and doctrine. d. To Encourage one another in a Fruitful Christian Spirit of Love. e. To witness Christ's Word through the Holy Spirit to a lost and blind world via the Natl Bible Echo. (You need not carry the Nat'l Bible Echo to participate in Christ_Net or vice versa. What I mean here is simply that in order to witness to the those IN the world, one must have access to them. Since this is basicly a CHRISTIAN Fellowship Net echo, you won't find them here. I believe that the Nat'l Bible Echo is an EXCELENT way to witness to a lost and blind world since it is carried on MANY SECULAR bbs systems. If you are interested in obtaining Natl Bible Echo you should contact Bob Hoffman on 8:8/0 as he is the Moderator of Nat'l Bible. f. To establish a Christian link through a National Prayer Request Network. g. To establish a "haven" for Christians to fellowship with one another without interuption from non-believers (note, this means that unbelievers (Non-Christians) are *NOT* to be allowed access into Christ_Net. For a user to gain access into Christ_Net, he/she *MUST* request access and state that he/she is indeed a Christian and believes along the lines stated below set forth in condition a for the SysOp in regards to the definition of being born again). II. CONDITIONS (System Operators) a. Must operate a System dedicated for the furtherance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and advertise that fact publicly upon entry to your system. I realize that the Lord calls us in different ways to minister to different types of people, so while I don't insist that a system have "Christian" posted all over it, I MUST insist that the SysOp(s) be born again Christians. By born again I mean, they believe: (Christ_Net's Statment of Faith:) In the Trinity, that Jesus Died for our sins, that he rose again victoriously over death, hell and the grave, in the virgin birth, and most importantly have asked Jesus Christ into their hearts and confess him as their Lord and Saviour over their lives. This applies to those who are remote SysOp's as well, and thier USERS that PARTICIPATE in the echo. They too must fulfill these requirements. b. Must notify your users by posting this POLICY on your system where all may view it and reprimand, if necessary, any offenders who post messages in CHRIST_NET contrary to the PURPOSE as outlined above under heading I. PURPOSE (a-f), including, but not limited to, exclusion of the offender from further use of your Bulletin Board system. (MOST IMPORTANT see note 1 further down in this listing) c. Must be willing to recognize the authority the Natl.Co-Ordinator has over the Network Base and submit to this POLICY without question. (see note 2.) (If you do have any problems with this aspect please talk to me about it via Net-Mail. There are some areas where I am led to give some leway) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: 1. Nature of reprimand up to the discretion of the Local Sysop who carries Christ_Net. 2a. The Nat'l. Co-Ordinator has the right to discontinue feed from the Net Systems where there are re-occuring offenders on a continual basis or those systems where there is failure to comply with heading II. CONDITIONS (a-c). 2b. It is the responsibility of the HUBS in the Network to distribute this POLICY as well as updates to this POLICY to the Systems he/she feeds. 2c. It is the responsibility of the HUBS in the Network to send the Natl. Co-Ordinator an updated list of any additions in Christ_Net to be added to the Nat'l. Routing Diagram by the Nat'l Coordinator. 3. Each individual System Operator is responsible for the Net on his/her System as pertains to this POLICY, and it is his/her duty to ensure compliance under I. PURPOSE (a-f). 3a. Each individual System Operator is responsible for obtaining, completing, and returning the Christ_Net application, which can be requested from Harold Robbins, on 12:3000/9 before obtaining the feed for Christ_Net. These files are titled C_NETAPP.ARC & C_NETPOL.ARC as well as a file which has both included called APP&POL.ARC. These files can be file requested from myself or any of the other listed hubs. The Hubs then have the athority to o.k. the application providing that they are willing to comply with 2c. Otherwise you will need to send the compleated application to myself, Harold Robbins, on 12:3000/9. (If any of the Hubs DO have a problem with this let me know and I'll note this in the LISTED HUBS section of this policy). 3b. Failure to comply with 3a could result in the loss of the Christ_Net feed until such time as said SysOp(s) complies with the requirements in 3a. 3c. Anyone found providing a feed of Christ_Net to anyone else without the expressed permission of myself (the Co-ordinator/moderator of Christ_Net) COULD lose their own feed of Christ_Net. NOTE: This echo was originated by Debbie Clement as a private echo and expressedly not a part of any particular network. It was distributed mainly in FamilyNet (then The Network) and CFN but private distribution was also permitted and encouraged with the expressed permission of the Moderator or "National Coordinator". Debbie retired and passed the Echo to Mike Shupe in Virginia. When Mike retired he made the echo part of CFN and passed the rights to the echo to Harold Robbins of CFN. This echo is specifically a CFN echo and distribution outside of CFN is permitted only with the expressed consent of the moderator. Harold Robbins, Moderator 12:3000/9, 8:7002/3004, & 1:382/22
