--------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Rules of conduct for participation in the DBRIDGE echomail conference ** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Current Release Version DB170SL.ZIP & DB170GB.ZIP. 1. Treat others as you wish to be treated. 2. No language unacceptable to prime-time television may be used. 3. The topic of conversation is the D'Bridge EMAIL System and all software programs directly related. This includes both technical talk, complaints, bug reports and suggestions. Off-topic messages are not allowed. That which is _NOT_ allowed is advt.s' re: competing mailers. 4. No personal flaming or flaming of the Moderator or the Author is allowed. Arthur may be reached via NETmail at: 1:3601/14.0@fidonet.org or: 201:100/114.0 ;by Internet: arthurg@gnv.fdt.net or: arthur.greenberg@dbnet.com or on my voice line @1-352-377-5415 (I do not accept collect calls) 5. ONLY the moderator is to respond to off-topic messages or over used message threads. 6. DBRIDGE is open for everyone. You do NOT have to be a DB user to carry or post in this echo, as long as your messages are on topic. 7. If you send a netmail question to me, please poll my system in about 24 to 30 hours later and pick up your answer. I do not reply direct netmail very often; however, I do post the reply and place it on hold for you to poll for later. If you wish your question to be answered in either DBRIDGE or, if you are a registered user, in DB_TECH, please let me know and I will post the reply in that echo. 8. Please remember that DBRIDGE is an International echo area. Test messages are NOT permitted! If you see a test message in DBRIDGE, do NOT answer it (except in netmail) 9. We do allow users to advertise "keys for sale"; however, only under the following conditions: you must post the key/kee number and the date/ time stamp on the key file. You MUST provide prospective buyers the above information in order for them to verify that you are the current registered owner in our database and will transfer all ownership rights and you must inform them that the "lifetime" free update service is not included with the sale of the key. This free update policy is vested in YOU and may not be transfered or sold to anyone. You must also provide a method to contact you direct... either a valid FidoNet node number, or if you are a point, a valid voice line number. [effective fee 8/01/94] 30 Day trial keys are available to the novice user to allow them to try DB on their system, before commiting to purchase the program. 10. The Moderator is the SOLE authority and his/her decissions are final and non-appealable. The Moderator will not tolerate ANY flaming of the author; although the product is fair game ONCE - If you continue to harp on the same problem for over 7 days, you will be asked to take it to netmail or suspend yourself from posting in this echo for 30 days. 11. This is a hobby and D'Bridge is supposed to be part of the fun of the telecommunication hobby. Please do not answer off topic messages or flames; that makes you more guilty than the originator, since anyone can ask a question that is new to them... We don't mind novice's asking almost any question; however, we do fault knowledgeable, computer literate folks jumping in to tell the novice what a dumb thing that was. The Moderater will answer any such questions either in netmail or in the echo. 12. Ownership of a valid D'Bridge license key allows the keyholder to apply for acceptance in DB_TECH, our private, non-backbone echo, but does not guarantee the users acceptance. 13. A list of worldwide sales/service sites is published every Thursday evening to coinside with the weekly nodediff. DBNET is ZIPPED so the first DBNET this year was DBNET.Z03 (DBNET.003) - we endevor to keep the phone numbers accurate as well as any special service. You may FileRequest [the MagicFileName] DBNET from 1:3601/14.0. 14. Any use of ANONYMOUS MAILERS, REMAILERS and/or other software that sends messages anonymously is prohibited. Any message received in this conference from such a mailer will result in the beginning system in the path line having their feed cut. Messages posted in this echo MUST contain a PATH line (^PATH). 15. The Moderator shall serve at the moderators' pleasure. 16. No one is allowed to Gate or "NetWork-List" this echo without The WRITTEN permission of the Moderator. 17. From time to time new POLICY will be published in DBNET as well as posted in the echo(s). Simple rules are easy to live by. Please help us keep the DBRIDGE echo on the FidoNet Backbone! These Rules are Elist'ed as: DBRIDGE.RUL.
