October 1, 1999 GUIDELINES FOR ECHOLIST ECHO CONFERENCE These guidelines are designed to clarify the purpose and operation of the ECHOLIST echo. 1. DESCRIPTION ECHOLIST is an administrative echo, used by the Echolist (ECHOLIST) Coordinator to post echo anouncements and other information pertaining to the Echolist. 2. PURPOSE The intent of this echo is to provide public information on echo conference updates between the monthly ECHOLIST file distribution dates. A companion echo (ELIST) also provides access to the ECHOLIST's author for questions about the database. 3. MODERATOR The Moderator of ECHOLIST is the Echolist Coordinator - 1:1/21. 4. DISTRIBUTION Participation in ECHOLIST is open to anyone having an interest in the ECHOLIST and its operation. 5. FEED STRUCTURE Any sysop is welcome to distribute the echo within Fidonet without further notice. Permission is also granted to gate this echo to other networks, provided that the Echolist Coordinator (1:1/21) is advised in advance, and standard gating technical conventions are followed. 6. TOPICS Acceptable postings in this echo are as follows: a. ECHOLIST moderator updates posted by 1:1/21 b. ECHOLIST status announcements posted by 1:1/21 c. ECHOLIST help files posted by 1:1/21 d. Questions from participants about ECHOLIST operations Note; Questions for the echolist keeper should be made in the ELIST echo. Prohibited in this echo are as follows: a. Flames b. Commercial advertisements c. IBM-type "high ASCII" (>127) characters d. Aliases e. Messages regarding the moderation of this echo These rules may be posted to the echo by the Moderator as often as he deems necessary. Use common sense, people, and we can all get along.
