                   GUIDELINES FOR ELIST ECHO CONFERENCE

        These guidelines are designed to clarify the purpose and operation
        of the ELIST echo.

1.  DESCRIPTION

        ELIST is an unrestricted administrative echo, connecting the
        Echolist (Elist) Coordinator and others having an interest in
        the contents of the Elist.

2.  PURPOSE

        The intent of this echo is to provide public information on echo
        conference updates between the monthly Elist file distribution
        dates.  This echo also provides access to the Elist's author for
        questions about the database.

3.  MODERATOR

        The Moderator of ELIST is the Echolist Coordinator - 1:1/21.

4.  DISTRIBUTION

        Participation in ELIST is open to anyone having an interest in 
        the Elist and its operation.

5.  FEED STRUCTURE

        Any sysop is welcome to distribute the echo within Fidonet without 
        further notice.  Permission is also granted to gate this echo to 
        other networks, provided that the Echolist Coordinator (1:1/21) is
        advised in advance, and standard gating technical conventions
        are followed.

6.  TOPICS

        Acceptable postings in this echo are as follows:

                a.  Elist moderator updates posted by 1:1/21
                b.  Elist status announcements posted by 1:1/21
                c.  Elist help files posted by 1:1/21
                d.  Questions from participants about Elist operations

        Prohibited in this echo are as follows:

                a.  Flames
                b.  Commercial advertisements
                c.  IBM-type "high ASCII" (>127) characters
                d.  Aliases
                e.  Messages regarding the moderation of this echo

These rules may be posted to the echo by the Moderator as often as he
deems necessary.  Use common sense, people, and we can all get along.
