HERMES_SYSOPS Conference Rules, last modified 1/19/99
HERMES_SYSOPS is open to Bulletin Board System operators that use Hermes II
software.  Topical discussion includes anything that has to do with Hermes II
including how to get Hermes II to work with a particular hardware
configuration and/or in conjunction with other software.  A modest amount of
discussion of general telecommunications and BBS operation is allowed.  This
conference is to provide positive support for new and experienced Hermes II
SysOps.
- Complaints are not to be posted in the conference.  Instead, they are to be
sent by netmail to the moderator.  Complaints and off-topic messages
appearing in the conference will be disregarded by all.  A second offense
will result in a Moderator's warning.  A third offense will result in a 15
day suspension from the conference.  The fourth offense will result in
permanent removal.
- Public announcements may be made by the moderator to suppress inappropriate
messages or topic threads.  Do not reply publicly to them, instead; use Netmail
if you need to comment.
- BE NICE!  Absolutely no flames or personal attacks will be tolerated.  If
you have a grievance with a person, take it to Netmail.
- Message replies will include a MODEST amount of material quoted from the
message to which it is replying.  Quoted material will not exceed more than
half of the body text.
- Discussion of other BBS software is not allowed except for comparative
purposes - and then only very sparingly.
- SysOps who are apparently using unregistered software will be politely
encouraged to register.  Demands for payment are not allowed.
- Real first and last names are required.  Aliases or handles are not
allowed.
- Words that are usually profane, vulgar or obscene are not allowed.  If in
doubt, consult an unabridged dictionary.
- The moderator's decisions are final.
