These conference rules will be updated from time to time by the moderators. ALL WHO POST IN THIS CONFERENCE AGREE TO ABIDE BY POLICY STATED HEREIN. 1.0 PCBOARD, the conference, is for all who have an interest in PCBoard, the BBS software, it's related products, and all third party applications designed to work with it. 2.0 PCBOARD is open to all SYSOPS. It is not open to end users of a BBS. 3.0 This conference may not be gated into any network other than FidoNet without the prior approval of the moderators. 4.0 English is the only language approved for use in this conference. Mainly because this is the only language understood by the people who can help you in getting the software running. 5.0 PCBoard @-at text is permitted in this conference. 6.0 Only advertising for products or services that are directly related to PCBoard can appear in this conference. This does not include BBS advertisements. 6.1 There is 0% tolerance on spamming. The Moderators will request a feed cut immediately upon such an occurance. 6.2 Discussion of Hacks, Cracks, Warez, and pirated software is OFF-TOPIC and will result in feed cut request immediately upon such an occurance. 7.0 No aliases allowed. If you really must use an alias, then you are requested to sign your real name at the bottom of the message. 8.0 When issues of concern are raised, some latitude will be allowed for participants to discuss these matters amongst themselves, however this latitude will end at a moderator's discretion. 8.1 A moderator reserves the right to declare any thread off-topic when, in his opinion, it becomes counter-productive or otherwise interferes with the smooth operation of this conference. 8.2 Flaming, namecalling, personal insults, product bashing, are strictly forbidden. If you don't have something good or constructive to say, then don't say it here. 8.3 Treat others how you would have them treat you. Above all, have fun. 9.0 Leave the moderating to the moderators. Any discussion regarding the decisions of a moderator or the rules of this conference should be handled via netmail, not here. 10.0 Posting "test" messages, or replying to such messages, multi-line or huge fancy signatures at the bottom of a message, or quoting entire messages will be considered annoying. Tearline, and origin lines must be in accordance to current FTSC (FTS-0001 & FTS-0004) specifications. 11.0 The posting of automated "robot" messages used by File Distribution Networks (FDN), must be specific to PCBoard. Consent must be obtained from the moderators first, before proceeding. 11.1 Anonymous Remailers for the purpose of injecting messages in this echo are not permitted. 12.0 When a conference rule has been violated, a moderator will attempt to contact the offender via netmail to ensure that he/she is cognizant of the rules and the perceived violation. If a second violation occurs from the same participant, this moderator will then attempt a second netmail message, this time, warning of possible action to follow upon further violation. 12.1 The possible actions consist of, but are not limited to, reducing access to read-only, voluntary non-participation, and/or temporary or permanent loss of access to the conference. A participant's past history in the conference will be taken into account when determining which of the possible actions will be taken. In cases of gross violation of the conference rules, the moderators reserve the right to take emergency action at their discretion and as outlined in the North American Bacbone Frequently Asked Questions & Help file (BOFAQ). 12.2 The moderators are always open to discussion of echo policy that will benefit the majority of participants, and will gladly accept suggestions and comments via netmail only. 12.3 Since this conference has more than one moderator, all correspondance with a participant, pertaining to conference rules or the operation of the conference, will also be cc'd to each of the other listed moderators.@XFF
