REGION11 - Region 11's Sysop Echo

This echo is a public forum for the sysops of Region11, for discussion
of almost anything, but preferably pertaining to sysoping, Region11
business, and related topics.  It is also the "official information" echo
for Region11, and messages regarding official Region11 business or elections
will be posted here as well.  "Othernet" (other than Fidonet or Region11)
business should not be conducted in this echo.

This echo is private, and limited to sysops that are listed under the
Region11 portion of the most current Fidonet nodelist.  BBS users,
co-sysops, or points should not have access.  This echo should not be fed to
nodes outside Region11.  Crossposting into the echo is allowed, within
limits, to get clarifications on certain topics of interest to all R11
sysops.  The moderator will determine when crossposting is going beyond
reasonable limits.  Crossposting the echo contents to other non-Region11
echoes is forbidden.

Basic rules:
       
- Test messages, within reason, are permitted from new sysops, or those
  needing a place to test their mail tosser for whatever reason.
- Real names only in the echo.
- No BBS ads, no large signatures, and no encrypted messages, PGP sigs,
  and the like.  Since we're all neighbors, we don't need these things.
- No playing moderator (unless you -are- the moderator, of course.)
- No hi-ASCII/ASCII "artwork" or BBS color codes.  The exception to high-
  bit ASCII is when it's used as a demonstration regarding a program or
  BBS setup.
- Try to be friendly.  Unwarranted attacks or insults aren't wanted, and
  won't be tolerated.  If you have a burning need to fight with someone,
  take it elsewhere.  Keep your language clean in the echo.  Feel free to
  -help- your fellow sysop... someday it might be YOU who needs
  help!  (You get what you give...)
- Nodelist problems should be directed to the R11NC echo, by your NC.
  (Independent nodes should contact the RC11 via netmail.)
- Echomail-related problems should be directed to the R11NEC echo, by
  your NEC.  (Or contact the REC via netmail, should you not have access
  to this echo.)
- Policy complaints (and the like) should be directed to the RC11, via
  netmail.  This echo is not the place to resolve such matters.  The same
  applies to "net infighting"...  keep it to your own net, please.
  (Or just try getting along for a change...  it -can- be done.)

Who to contact:

- Sysops with echomail-related questions should contact (via netmail) their
  Hub or Net Echomail Coordinator (NEC) first, then the REC11 if no
  resolution can be made at the NEC level.

- Those needing echomail feeds within Region11 should contact the their NEC,
  or the REC11, for help.

- Sysops with nodelist problems/changes, or wishing to file any sort of
  "official" complaint should direct their messages via netmail to their
  Net Coordinator first, then the RC11 if no resolution can be made at
  the NC level.  In the case of policy complaints, you should -always-
  contact your NC first.  (And read Policy 4.0.7 before filing complaints.)
