JV> I have no idea. Youre the only one with that issue. Something on
 JV> your end

 JV> maybe?

nope, he's not the only one seeing the issue... if it isn't something on your
end, it is something in the middle... i have posted once or twice about this in
other echos and just never carried on with a followup...

i figured it like this... you were notified of a situation and you should bring
it up the the maintainer of your software package and that you guys would do
the testing and investigating on your end...

i highly suspect something in SBBS or in other processing software you are
using to get the messages packed out... again, if it isn't something on your
system, then it is something in the middle between us...

here's a HEX dump of the above quoted section from the RAW PKT file... i've
hilited the actual problem...

                                         ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^

the above shows that your messages contain only CRs (hex 0d) and no LFs (hex
0a)... the doublespacing comes from there being two CRs each time... in the
plain text, they are replaced by a '.' (period) each as i cannot post the
musical note that is actually the character...

FWIW: there doesn't have to be any linebreaks in a message as today's software
should automatically wordwrap based on the local settings... i know i hate
reading forced wraps at 70 on my 132 column screen :?

in any case, something is doubling the CRs for some reason... i kinda wonder if
that section of code is actually trying to do a CRLF combination and a
copy'n'paste was missed being edited to have the LF in it... hell, it could
even be something as simple as using buggy software from *nix that has been
ported to your platform...

in any case, it needs to be brought to the maintainer's attention so it can be
fixed or an internal setting can be adjusted or whatever it takes to correct
the problem ;)
