Ok, when you live in Japan, you walk alot.  Only half the families have a car
or anyone who can drive at all.  Most shopping is done by taking a 'pull cart'
which has wheels on it and you pull it behind you.

Grocery shopping is done 2-3 times a week (many do it every day) and the amouts
bought are small, just for a few days. You walk to market and buy fresh foods,
then walk back home with them.  Little grocery stores are everywhere so this
is easy to do on the way walking back home from work.

Foods are eaten 'in their season' so the market changes alot based on the time
of year.  Right now, eggplants and strawberries are a glut so they are all
around.  Later in the year, you wont see strawberries at all but smething else
will take their place.

I've not seen any sumo wrestlers out here but they do in fact, exist.  Sasebo,
is a very small town by Japan standards and feels like a city of only 6,000
would except it's bigger.

The money is called 'yen' and our standard smallest bill is a 1,000 yen which
would be about 8 dollars OZ money (or a little less).  Like you, we use coins
for everything smaller than that.
