Mark Martin is ready for this week to be over with, and it has little to do
with the Chase for the Nextel Cup.
Martin slipped into the top 10 in the Nextel Cup points standings last week
at California Speedway and appears to be running well enough to be a
contender for the championship should he remain in the top 10 after Saturday
night's Chevy Rock and Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway.
But there have been other things on Martin's mind lately. A resident of
Daytona Beach, Fla., Martin has seen the wrath of two hurricanes cut though
his hometown.
