You do realize, I hope, that our entire judicial system works on the
fact that it's a "jury of your peers" and not the whim of a single
person who might be just having a bad day, or is truly evil in his/her
own right?  This is one of the cornerstones of the freedoms we enjoy in
a democracy.

Instead of predicating getting out of jury duty by voting, maybe it
should be you're not allowed to vote unless you sign up for jury duty!
If you're not willing to contribute to society by serving on a jury,
why should society care who you prefer to be elected to office?
