Saw a police chase video on Youtube where this guy was in a Mustang 
trying to get away from the cops, getting bumped off the road two or 
three times before he finally hit a curb and presumably broke the car's 
axle.  Lots of comments of "Awesome driver!  Stupid cops!"  and "They 
should have him teach the cops how to drive!" and I pointed out that, 
well, the cops HAD outdriven him, in fact they ran him right off the 
road, multiple times.

Most folks don't seem to realize that quite a few cops (especially 
highway cops) are professional drivers, having been given all sorts of 
neat training in how to get the most out of their cars and win car 
chases.  That's not even considering custom made persuit cars, like a 
Chevy Impala I saw that had been fitted with a rollcage and a Corvette's 
supercharged V8 engine, which goes from here to the next county in 8 
seconds.

Even if you can outdrive the cop, they haven't made a car yet that could 
outrun a police radio.
