It will get better once things get bad enough. It's a sad thing to
have to say, but people tend to think "it's the other guy's problem"
until /their/ job gets outsourced or /their/ son is killed in Iraq or
/they/ contract cancer and discover that the insurance company is
allowed to raise their premiums through the roof.
