Yes, they did, much to a lot of people's (including latter-day
congresscritters') dismay.  Decisions made in the heat of the moment
often come back to bit one on the tuchus...

I tend to agree, but Bush is NOT a superior officer to the judge.  Two
different branches of government.  He is not supposed to able to tell
the courts what to do (though he can attempt to sway the philosophy,
since he appoints the judges)
