Alright, fine. My brother, my elder sister and my mother were all born
in Germany. My mother is bilingual and lived, worked and was educated
in Germany for much (but not a majority) of her life. My brother
started school in Germany before they moved to England. He often
refers to himself as 'German' and is frequently quite unpatriotic and
cynical about the state of his country of residence, but he speaks
only a rough German, has a very British sense of humour, and a
tendency to moan about Americanisation of the English language and
culture. He and my mother and my siblings are undisputably British.

While the BBC establishment were "white middle class male" and
British, it does not follow that you have to be "white middle class
male" in order to BE British, and conversely being a Muslim Asian does
not preclude you from being British. Whilst I've been unable to find
any quotes, his IMDB profile and other sites turned up by a google
search say he refers to himself as a British film-maker. I see no
contradiction with him also referring to himself as a Muslim Asian.
