I agree and this underlines a fundamnetal misperception on the part of 
Democrats about the American people's attitude towards the war.

The American people have two competing opinions of the war.

1) They want to win the war

2) If they can't win, they don't want to waste good lives.  (i.e. they care 
about the trops fighting in Iraq)

Congressional Democrats do NOT want to give Bush a "W" (so to speak) and 
have been consistently against the war and saying all the things Josh says 
is wrong with Iraq.  A military victory would spell massive political 
trouble for the Democrats and would produce a slew of "war hero" republican 
candidates.  It's make Bush look good and they'll bedamned before that 
happenes.  So no way will any party-loyal Democrat ever support the Iraq 
war.  They'd have to put the nation ahead of party and ideology and few are 
willing to do that.

Gore: I think the answer to that depends on where your audience's head is. 
In the United States of America, unfortunately we still live in a bubble of 
unreality. And the Category 5 denial is an enormous obstacle to any 
discussion of solutions. Nobody is interested in solutions if they don't 
think there's a problem. Given that starting point, I believe it is 
appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how 
dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to 
what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve 
this crisis.
