Hrm.  Interesting.  I've been poking around for a few hours now, and have=
n't=20
found anything about it.  In fact, over at freerepublic.com -- which is a=
=20
site that's generally not going to be in agreement with me on anything --=

Again, there's no hint that this is one of several command centers.

And, "Today, Lloyd Grove of Daily Intelligencer reported that Mr. Hauer h=

written a memo in February 1996 to Peter J. Powers, then the first deputy=
=20
mayor, recommending the MetroTech Center in Downtown Brooklyn as the best=
=20
site for the command center. Mr. Hauer said that he had been told by Denn=

Young Jr., a top aide to Mr. Giuliani, that the mayor would not accept a=20
Brooklyn location."

This sounds to me like there is _one_ command center, and Giuliani wanted=
 it=20
in downtown Manhattan.  I can't find anything else that backs up the=20
statement that there was more than one command center.  I'd be interested=
 if=20
you could find anything on that.
