Sorry, poor wording (or punctuation) on my part: when I postulated this 
idea previously, I put some emphasis on "knew"....

To quote myself:

"I don't think Neroon's appearance would have had nearly the same impact 
on Lennier, though.  I get the feeling there was always at least some 
small amount of respect that Lennier had for Neroon - for Neroon's 
dedication to his caste, his respect for Delenn, his ultimate sacrifice

Lennier had been hoping or expecting to "make an appearance".

This is the whole thing... if we've been taught anything by Babylon 5, 
it's that nothing is as black-and-white as it appears.  At first it's 
thought that the Shadows are pure evil, and Vorlons are the "good guys". 
  Over the course of the first three-and-a-half seasons, we see that 
it's not quite that easy; that the Shadows aren't simply these nasty 
guys in black hats that are bent on destruction, but in fact are only 
doing what they feel is best for those under their charge.

Obviously that didn't affect Lennier's opinions of Morden...
