Yes, that too... we saw the South Park movie on opening night, and it 
was the same experience - laughing along with a couple hundred other 
like-minded individuals just has that extra... something.  (The 
spontaneous applause when Bill Gates was shot was truly the icing on the 
proverbial cake!)

Well, not even that... even if I had a 60" plasma screen at home for 
viewing a DVD or a movie, it's still just not the same as that first 
viewing in the theater.  Always great to be able to continue to enjoy it 
after it's left the theater - heck, I've re-enjoyed a couple movies on 
my Palm Treo's little screen while sitting in the ferry lineups - but 
for so many films, a lot is lost without at least that one initial 
viewing on the big screen.

Well, that's as much the decline of the drug-inspired culture as it is 
the shape and size of the media ;)
