I live in a very wealthy area -- the kind of place where you see kids 
routinely, at a young age, going into Starbuck's or Cold Stone Creamery with 
their friends (no parents in sight), and buying $4 cups of coffee or $5 bowls 
of ice cream without batting an eyelash.  And there's no shortage of kids 
that age in theateres around here.  Believe me, I've tried to find the 
showings that they're not attending!  But if your argument is "kids who've 
grown up watching movies on their computer screens/iPods/iPhones are going to 
reject the theater experience," I would beg to differ with you in the 
strongest possible terms.  You're just completely overlooking the social 
aspect of going to the movies.  It's a place where kids all over the country 
-- in good areas, bad areas -- are allowed to gather without their parents.  
Even when they're too young to go hang out at the mall, most parents think 
nothing of dropping a carload of kids off at the theater, saying, "I'll be 
back to pick you up after the show."  Kids aren't going to give up a 
parent-free refuge like that so easily.

I don't know about you, but I don't have an IMAX-sized television.  And I 
tend to watch my blockbusters on the local IMAX screen.
