Is it?  Is it really a reasonable possibility?  At the time that there were
still three segments, when he first announced TLT JMS said that he required no
interference *in writing* from WB and got it.

Here is JMS's post regarding the change in segments:

to
be that the Garibaldi segment was dropped.  I don't see a lot of room for
'spin'. For examples of JMS when he's 'spinning', check out the posts he made
when Crusade was shut down.

Remember also that I've read the Garibaldi segment and I can tell you that when
JMS wrote: "GIven that the Garibaldi story was the most
complicated visually and technically, also the most difficult from a
CGi perspective, that's the one that got pushed until, potentially,
next time." it's the absolute truth. It's far more complex visually, especially
in the early scenes, that the other two segments.

See, that's why I trust JMS as much as I do.  Over and over he's written
something and I've independently verified that he's told the truth.  In this
instance, he had no way of knowing that the script copy I'd get would have the
Garibaldi segment and that his comment could be checked.  He wrote that nine
months ago and I only got the script a few weeks ago.

Perhaps you think it's reasonable to play 'what if' games but I've got proof
that one major statement JMS made about why the Garibaldi segment was dropped 
is true whereas everything Jerry said on his show about his segment being
dropped for political reasons is utterly unproven (and borderline paranoid if
you ask me; yes I've heard it).  So as far as I'm concerned, no, what you
postulate *isn't* a reasonable possibility.
