I wouldn't count on it - not to mention SS is "forced" retirement
savings, unless you're on an approved retirement plan.  Were it not in
place, VERY few would do as you say you would.  That has already been
shown  (and in my cynical moments, I tend to think that the shrub and
his handlers - err, staff and a few others are counting on (too) many
people not socking that money away.

Relatively?  The (vanishing) middle class, followed closely by the
working poor.

They've benefited neither, in my experience.  Are you sure you don't
