That said, web fora remain UseNet's main competition and posters
steadily migrate from UseNet to web fora.  It's not an absolute
switch either.  I post to both.  It's a statistical demographic move
that's been happening for years.  Likely because the typical poster
doesn't know the difference and isn't aware of the disadvantages
of web fora.

People say that about all sorts of newsgroups.  Pilot error nearly
without exception until you get to looking in the archives for posts
before 1990.  But it's not like folks on web fora find a magic cure
for pilot error.  I've probably failed to post the same percentage
on the two types of media over the years.

That said, there was one objection.  Over the years I've reregistered
to post on RASTb5.mod several times over the years.  On other
moderated groups/lists/boards that tends to not occur.  I can only
think of one invitational-only web forum I use that I've had to
reregister on.

But while the registration process is a price to pay, "You may not
always get what you pay for but you will most certainly pay for what
you get in life" is a wise cliche that applies.  The quality of
discussion
on RASTb5.mod is superior to the vast majority of active newsgroups
and I've never heard of a web board with this quality.

And that brings up another reason why there's no push to move to
a web forum.  I've never heard of any web forum with this level of
quality.  I subscribe to newsgroups that are gated to web fora and
it is trivial to tell the absymal quality posts that come in from the
web fora from the UseNet originating posts.  And RASTb5.mod is
a shining beacon in the nght among newsgroups.
