But all fiction is "lies". Brown very clearly and explicitly stated that 
his story was fiction. Were you among those who objected to "The Last 
Temptation of Christ"? That was very clearly a bunch of "lies". Yet it 
was an excellent movie, which particularly focused on Jesus' human 
nature, which I believe is a significant doctrinal point in many 
churches.

Did you object to the movie "Amadeus"? Lotsa "lies" there.

Moon hoaxers, Holocaust deniers, et al. are all trying to pass off 
fiction as truth. Not so with DVC.

The same is true of P911. The sole objection is that it is fiction trying 
to pass itself off as fact. I would have no objection to a film which 
depicted Clinton (whom I detest, anyway) having UBL over for lunch, and 
discussing the best way to launch an attack on US soil -- IF it were 
presented as fiction. Of course, something that blatant, even if 
presented as fact, would have even the dimmest bulbs going, "Hey, wait a 
minute...." But the producers and movers behind P911 were clearly hoping 
to sneak past even the 100-watters. *That* is what is objectionable about 
it.

I think Amy nailed it. I've wondered all along what the big hoo-hah was 
about DVC, and I think that's it; it's the same thing which drove all the 
hoo-hah about "Last Temptation" -- it simply offends Christian 
sensibilities.

Now, I know you've stated that that is not the basis of your response, 
and I respect that. You feel that DVC is a bunch of lies. But might I 
submit that you view it that way because of your Christian perspective. 
To me, it's just a story, no more a cause for concern than that pack of 
lies titled "Charlotte's Web". A talking pig? Puh-lease. :)
