More than Mere Words 

"I wilt give you the sure mercies of David" (Acts 13:34). 

Nothing of man is sure; but everything of God is so. Especially are covenant
mercies sure mercies, even as David said "an everlasting covenant, ordered in
all things and sure." 

We are sure that the LORD meant His mercy. He did not speak mere words: there
is substance and truth in every one of His promises. His mercies are mercies
indeed. Even if a promise seems as if it must drop through by reason of death,
yet it never shall, for the good LORD will make good His word. 

We are sure that the LORD will bestow promised mercies on all His covenanted
ones. They shall come in due course to all the chosen of the LORD. They are
sure to all the seed, from the least of them unto the greatest of them. We are
sure that the LORD will continue His mercies to His own people. He does not
give and take. What He has granted us is the token of much more. That which we
have not yet received is as sure as that which has already come; therefore, let
us wait before the LORD and be still. There is no justifiable reason for the
least doubt. God's love, and word, and faithfulness are sure. Many things are
questionable, but of the LORD we sing -- 

For his mercies shall endure Ever faithful, ever sure.

Areas of Greatest Need 




We believe that there are certain teachings and practices of contemporary
Christianity (especially in the West), that have led to its demise. They are
the things which stand in greatest need of change: 




The Attributes of God: There is a great lack of biblical teaching on the
attributes of God. As a result, church members often worship a God they do not
know, or worse, one they have created in their own mind and according to their
own image or culture. The god. that is worshiped by many has very little
resemblance to the God of Scripture. If the true God were preached in many
congregations throughout the land, the response would be, .My God is not like
that!. or .I could never love a God like that!. In Psalm 50:21, God declares,
.You thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you and state the case in
order before your eyes.. 




The Gospel: The glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ has been reduced down to
nothing more than .four laws. or .five things. God wants man to know. For the
Gospel to be properly understood, there are several essentials that must be
proclaimed: The attributes of both God and man must be set forth - God is holy
and just; man is radically depraved and deserving of all condemnation. The
Cross must be explained . Christ bore the sins of His people and was crushed
under the full weight of God.s wrath. Through such a death, God.s justice was
satisfied that He might be both just and the justifier of wicked men. The
resurrection must be proclaimed . the resurrection is God.s public vindication
of His Son and a public declaration of the justification of His people. There
must be a proper call - the Gospel does not call men to simply repeat a
.sinner.s prayer,. but to repent of sin and self righteousness, and trust in
Christ alone. In modern evangelism, a man is asked whether or not he is a
sinner. If he agrees, he is asked if he wants to go to heaven. If he nods his
head, he is asked if he wants to repeat a simple prayer. If he does, he is told
that he is saved. This is not the Gospel. It matters little if a man admits
that he is a sinner. The real question is whether or not God has done a work in
his heart so that he hates the sin he once loved. It matters little that a man
wants to go to heaven. The real question is whether or not he desires the God
he once hated and esteems as precious the Christ he once ignored. It matters
little that a man is willing to repeat a prayer. The real question is whether
or not he repents and trusts in Christ!
