CHAPTER 34
Psalms 34:1
1 A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove
him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall
continually be in my mouth. Psalms 34:2
2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and
be glad.
Psalms 34:3
3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. Psalms 34:4
4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Psalms 34:5
5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
Psalms 34:6
6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his
troubles.
Psalms 34:7
7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and
delivereth them.
Psalms 34:8
8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in
him.
Psalms 34:9
9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Psalms 34:10
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD
shall not want any good thing.
Psalms 34:11
11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Psalms 34:12
12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see
good?
Psalms 34:13
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Psalms 34:14
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Psalms 34:15
15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto
their cry.
Psalms 34:16
16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the
remembrance of them from the earth. Psalms 34:17
17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all
their troubles.
Psalms 34:18
18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be
of a contrite spirit.
Psalms 34:19
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out
of them all.
Psalms 34:20
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. Psalms 34:21
21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be
desolate.
Psalms 34:22
22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in
him shall be desolate.
CHAPTER 35
Psalms 35:1
1 A Psalm of David. Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me:
fight against them that fight against me. Psalms 35:2
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Psalms 35:3
3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say
unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Psalms 35:4
4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be
turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Psalms 35:5
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase
them.
Psalms 35:6
6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute
them.
Psalms 35:7
7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without
cause they have digged for my soul. Psalms 35:8
8 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid
catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. Psalms 35:9
9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
Psalms 35:10
10 All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the
poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him
that spoileth him?
Psalms 35:11
11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
Psalms 35:12
12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. Psalms 35:13
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my
soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. Psalms 35:14
14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down
heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother. Psalms 35:15
15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea,
the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they
did tear me, and ceased not:
Psalms 35:16
16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
Psalms 35:17
17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my
darling from the lions.
Psalms 35:18
18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among
much people.
Psalms 35:19
19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let
them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. Psalms 35:20
20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them
that are quiet in the land.
Psalms 35:21
21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye
hath seen it.
Psalms 35:22
22 This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
Psalms 35:23
23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my
Lord.
Psalms 35:24
24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not
rejoice over me.
Psalms 35:25
25 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say,
We have swallowed him up.
Psalms 35:26
26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine
hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves
against me.
Psalms 35:27
27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea,
let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the
prosperity of his servant.
Psalms 35:28
28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day
long.
CHAPTER 36
Psalms 36:1
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. The
transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God
before his eyes.
Psalms 36:2
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be
hateful.
Psalms 36:3
3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise,
and to do good.
Psalms 36:4
4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not
good; he abhorreth not evil.
Psalms 36:5
5 Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the
clouds.
Psalms 36:6
6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great
deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. Psalms 36:7
7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put
their trust under the shadow of thy wings. Psalms 36:8
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou
shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. Psalms 36:9
9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Psalms 36:10
10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy
righteousness to the upright in heart. Psalms 36:11
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the
wicked remove me.
Psalms 36:12
12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not
be able to rise.
