Again, it is exactly what transferred the message I am responding to as well as

Says you.  I think heave ho of most of that stuff is long overdue.  Nobody does
any of that stuff anymore not even the people who came up with all that crap to
begin with.  Wake up and smell the coffee already.

You're hanging onto abandonware that is extremely crippling networkingly
speaking especially in a so-called hobby network.  It is all dead and has been
since a decade ago.  Numbers don't lie.

Probably not.  In this particular case (this point) the ftp client takes care
of that aspect.

Not the ftpd.  In my case it is the ftp client.  I have it all scripted out so
that it happens transparently by calling up the proper switches.  Works great
and has for quite some time.
