Ärende: Iran Calls For Alliance..
=================================
Mulling over LEE LOFASO to STEVE ASHER 19 Feb 2005
G'day Lee...
SA>Iran Calls for Alliance to Combat U.S. and Israel
SA>02/1705 "The Scotsman" - - Iran urged regional countries to create
SA>a powerful alliance today and remain vigilant in the face of "US and
SA>Israeli plots."
LL> Hahahahahahahahaha! A member-state of the Axis of Evil calls on
LL> Syria to replace Iraq to become the next victim of regime change.
It might sound laughable, but the fat lady hasn't sung yet. Iran could
not easily attack Israel while Saddam was in power & propped up by the
USA during the Iran/Iraq war. Iraq remains a barrier to Iran while
coalition forces remain, but Iran will attack Israel when to time is
right, and with a number of allies - eg Russia, Libya, Syria.
LL> What a joke! Syria is much weaker than Iraq was. Furthermore, the
LL> regime in Syria is led by a heretical sect within a heretical sect,
LL> having virtually no support amongst the people of Syria. In a war
LL> with the U.S., Syria would last maybe a week. At best. That is, if
LL> it had support from Iran. Otherwise, give Syria three days. At
LL> most.
I doubt it will matter if the USA attacks Syria under the pretext of
the Syria Accountability Act, which seems destined to paint Syria into
a corner & make invasion inevitable as happened with Iraq, or if Iran/
Syria simply act preemptively against Israel before a USA invasion.
SA>The call came a day after Syria and Iran declared they would form a
SA>united front in the face of any threats.
LL> The Iran/Syria alliance has become the biggest joke on the planet.
I don't see what alternative Syria has - the Accountability Act has
sufficient clauses to ensure that Syria would would be unwilling or
unable to comply with all of them - Syria might reasonably halt
support for terrorism and end its occupation of Lebanon. It might
not be unable to stop development of "weapons of mass destruction"
if, like Iraq, it isn't developing any - not having the things is
not a defence against a US invasion. It might not be in a position
to "cease its illegal importation of Iraqi oil", especially if the
USA, as an occupying power in Iraq, is apparently unable to cease
illegal exportation of oil (if any) to Syria. The "other purposes"
could be trumped up into a pretext for a US invasion - Condi giving
a Powell-style address to the UN with a whole heap of "garden grunt"
about Syria's Winnebagoes of Death, Anthrax, aloominum toobs etc etc.
She could re-use Powell's speech & props, & just change a few names.
SA>The US has recently escalated its criticism of both Syria and Iran,
SA>demanding that Syria withdraw its troops from Lebanon and accusing
SA>Tehran of running a covert nuclear weapons programme.
LL> The vast majority of the population in Iran hates the mullahs who
LL> run the country. The vast majority of the population in Syria
LL> hates the heretical sect of the heretical sect that runs the
LL> country. Both populations would welcome regime change with open
LL> arms.
They may welcome regime change, but what flavor of regime would they
welcome? I can't see them falling over for a USA-approved puppet, ala
the Shah, anytime soon.
SA>The US has also said both countries need to do more to prevent
SA>insurgents from travelling to Iraq from their territory.
LL> Such word games are just that. Word games. Everybody knows what
LL> will happen once the word games end.
The US, as an occupying power in Iraq, is apparently unable to secure
Iraq's borders and prevent these "insurgents" from insurging. Russia
had a similar problem in Afghanistan when it propped up a regime that
the USA didn't agree with, & found itself up against a US-supported
insurgency that included the likes of Osama bin-Laden.
SA>Iran's powerful former President Hashemi Rafsanjani, speaking
SA>after meeting Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Naji al-Otari, said
SA>strengthening relations between Iran, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and
SA>other Islamic states in the region was of great importance.
LL> Syria is running Lebanon. The U.S. is running Iraq. Iran is stuck
LL> between a rock and a hard place, knowing U.S. troops are stationed
LL> in both Iraq and Afghanistan, sandwiching Iran in-between. And the
LL> Russians are not about to stop the U.S. from putting an end to the
LL> problem in Chechnya, knowing where those Muslim terrorists are
LL> coming from. With regime change soon to take place in both Syria
LL> and Iran, the Chechnyan problem will cease to be a problem, as
LL> Russian troops take over the region in full force.
When Russia(?), Iran, Syria etc attack Israel, the men of Israel will
be kept busy marking & disposing of the dead, burning the weapons etc.
SA>He said it was in the interests of their people to create a powerful
SA>alliance through close cooperation.
LL> It gets funnier every day, as Iranian mullahs try to imitate the
LL> late Ayatollah Khomeini. Unfortunately for the mullahs, there is
LL> no more U.S. Embassy in Iran, meaning no more American hostages can
LL> be taken.
SA>Rafsanjani, who is widely expected to run in Iran's June presidential
SA>elections, said that the United States and Israel were trying to
SA>create divisions among the region's countries, which he said must
SA>"stay completely vigilant vis-a-vis the US and Israeli plots in this
SA>regard."
LL> Ooh! Big threat! Whatshegonnado? Poo-poo on Bush? Mebbe he
LL> gonna poo-poo on Sharon as well? Gosh. Bush and Sharon must be
LL> really scared!
I doubt Bush & co would be scared - Bush is content to "bring 'em on",
and Iran will accommodate him before long. If one wants to fake the
Millennium, then it is a good idea to have a battle that can be
marketed as Armageddon, and establish one's (false) credentials as
the Messiah and bring "peace" to the world in general & the Middle
East in particular.
SA>Al-Otari said Israel was "the source of instability" in the Middle
SA>East and that Syria would continue supporting the Palestinians and
SA>Lebanese in their struggle.
LL> Supporting the Lebanese by invading their country? Gosh. The
LL> Lebanese must really love the Syrians. And the Palestinians must
LL> also love the Syrians, given all the help the Syrians have shown in
LL> building their communities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip...
In a sense, al-Otari is correct, but for the wrong reasons - Jerusalem
is a cup of trembling for all the nations, including the lowly Syria
and the mighty USA... the nations will ultimately be broken to pieces
when they collectively seek to solve the "Jewish problem" by destroying
Israel.
SA>The relationship between the Persian Shiite Iran and Arab countries
SA>have been rocky for some time. They were strained after the Islamic
SA>revolution in Iran 1979, and relations worsened when Saddam Hussein
SA>launched his eight year war against Iran in 1980. Almost all Arab
SA>countries - with a notable exception of Syria - supported Saddam's
SA>war out of fear that Iran's revolution would spread to other countries.
LL> It's hard to spread a revolution when the people hate the
LL> mullahs...
Remember, the goal of Islam is to restore the Caliphate & have the whole
world under Sharia law - the goal of dominionist Christianity is to impose
Christian dominion over the earth in order for Jesus Christ to return -
the goal of those seeking to impose noahide laws is to prepare the way
for Messiah to appear ... it is possible that all three groups will go
to war in the hope of ultimate victory at the expense of the others -
it is also possible that the New Age "Christ", "Messiah", "Mahdi" "World
Teacher" will appear and be accepted as Christ / Messiah / Mahdi etc &
prevent all out war, at least until he reveals his true identity & intent,
and breaks the covenant & invades Israel.
Cheers, Steve..
