Gee, it's only about $50. to fill the van when it's 3/4 empty.  We're
paying just a bit over $3./gallon on post; it's about 10-25 cents more
expensive off (saw one place charging $3.47) and more so on the other
islands.  The author of the gas cap bill has put in to have it repealed
or amended but it looks dead for this legislative session.

-> major shopping is saved for times when they go to Oneonta or Kingston
-> (an hour away in opposite directions).  There's an A&P in Margaretville
-> but the prices are (artificially) high because people from the NY City

But you are in a more major metro area than my parents; their town has
less than 1000 people.

We had a young man in India for a couple of years; he came back last
year with a fiancee (American, also missionary).  They got married and
will return to the field in a couple of years.  Others we've met thru
out here we can't tell others where they are assigned but their e-mail
is interesting.  The Chirstmas missions emphasis was on India last year;
a member of the church and one of her friends (Indian natives) prepared
an autherntic meal for us.

OK, I'm the nuttiest of our group then.  I'm going to try & get some
tops cut before we pack out.  We're talking about mailing ahead some
basics, mostly kitchen related, but some computer stuff and a sewing
machine will be included.
