====================
Hi Hap,

-> A couple of days later than usual since we went up to Warner Robbins to
-> see David's parents on Saturday. Got a cute (!) picture of his niece &
-> nephew, we sent him an e-mail copy.

hn> I'm sure he'll appreciate it! Anne and I have stayed in as much as
hn> possible, we've got about 7 inches of snow...melted down to about 4
hn> still in the yard. Temps have been getting into the low 20's at night
hn> and even dipping into the teens for a while...the roads are sheer ice.
hn> It's been nice just staying home and laying low!

BRRRRRRRRR! The local weather report is for the cold to come in
tonight/tomorrow but most of the "wet" punch is gone. Supposed to only
have highs in the low 50s the next few days, with colder weather next
week. Time to haul out all the heavy winter stuff we've not used yet
this year.

-> hn> We've gone to Tucson several times when the show was on and

-> Seems the weather liked to play nasty whenever the show was scheduled
-> for too. Steve didn't like Tucson traffic so we avoided going there

hn> We never really had any bad weather when we were there...pretty windy
hn> one day when we went to Lil Abner's for dinner one night...but that
hn> was about it. I thought Tucson was laid out fairly nicely and traffic
hn> never seemed to be much of a problem if you simply avoided the
hn> immediate area of one of the show venues. Of course I'm used to
hn> Seattle traffic and that might be a factor as well (grin).

I can remember one year it rained really bad, tore down vendor's tents
and a lot of other wind damage in the area. I think we had snow on Fort
Huachuca then. Steve isn't used to city driving, thus, would rather not
do it if the city is full of people who are just visiting or otherwise
not where they are supposed to be in line with where he wants to go. (G)
We did have to go up several times during events but stayed away from
where they were held as much as possible, usually trying to get home for
a meal rather than braving the restaurant scene up there. Made the
mistake of trying to eat out with friends in Pacific Grove, CA one year
when the Crosby Open was being held. Bad idea but we did get our meal
eventually.

-> A friend gave me a Fire Mountain catalog; Ive not ordered anything yet

hn> I've ordered from them once and was pretty happy, but with Shipwreck
hn> so close that I can be there in 15-20 minutes I usually find what I'm
hn> after (and more) there! www.shipwreckbeads.com

I guess I'll have to take a look. (G)

-> hn> This year it looks like we are going to try to go to New Mexico for
-> hn> the first time. Alberquerque will probably be our main base of

-> Have fun! We avoided Alberquerque on our way east; on our way up
 hn> toward
-> the city, heard on the radio that an accident had closed I-40 eastbound
-> on the east side of the city & they weren't expecting it to reopen until

hn> We have wanted to go to New Mexico for a long time but it never seemed
hn> to work out for us to go...looks like this may be the year! We're very
hn> excited and doing all sorts of online research on what we want to do!

I like that area of the country--remember, "red or green?" is the state
question and it referrs to chili/related hot foods.

-> hn> the last of the second meatloaf, so this weekend I'll be making a few
-> hn> more dishes ahead for next week and it will be full again.

-> Ours is still rather full; I didn't do as much as I thought I would last
-> week. Worked on something more important--getting well.

hn> That should be your highest priority! You should make some good
hn> chicken stew! I cooked a big meatloaf, and a biiiig pork roast today

Still trying--no real urge to cook, even making stock from the turkey
and chicken carcasses I've got in the freezer. Then I'd have to figure
out where to stow the extra.

Catch you later,
