Thank you for this latest contribution to Australia's culinary
literature from Mr Kekovich.  It is greatly appreciated.  In fact, it
has inspired certain people, known to you by repute, to follow Sam's
advice and perform the ceremonial ovine parts cremation on the
forthcoming Australia Day, utgt.

The Prime Minister will also give his usual radio/TV speech on
Australia Day, but I'm sure it will not be given the attention and
appreciation that Sam's speech gets.

For those who have forgotten, Phar Lap was the greatest race horse the
world has ever known, and after beating everything in Australia, went
to USA, and did likewise.  The punters loved him, but the bookies
hated him, until he suddenly died, in USA, in mysterious
circumstances.  It all happened some 70 years ago, but his memory has
remained bright ever since in the hearts of horse worshippers, who
still hold America responsible for his death.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Rosemary And Mint Baked Lamb Chops
 Categories: Mains, Lamb, Non-dairy
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      8    Lamb chops; 2 per person
      3 tb Extra virgin olive oil
      2 tb Fresh rosemary
      1 tb Fresh mint
           -Freshly ground black
           -pepper
 
  Lightly brush an oven safe baking dish with a little of the oil. The
  dish should be just big enough to fit the lamb chops. Combine
  remaining oil with the herbs and black pepper. Drizzle oil mixture
  over the chops. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for
  at least half an hour, turning chops once or twice. The chops can be
  left to marinate for several hours or overnight if desired.
  
  Preheat oven to 160^C. Remove the plastic wrap and replace with foil.
  Bake 20 minutes.
  
  Great served with mashed potato and Three-Capsicum Salad or Simple
  Salad
