You can walk it, but it becomes further, the longer you spend in
Kitty's.  (G)  I have dined at the Casino on a couple of occasions
when my daughter Arlyn was working there in the restaurant, but the
main attraction is Mindil Beach.  The time to go is Thursday evenings,
when the Mindil Beach Market comes alive. A wonderful selection of
stalls appears, selling all kinds of ethnic foods, from Timorese to
Cypriot, which people eat, sitting on the beach while enjoying the
sunset.  Entertainment is provided by fire-eaters, dancers, acrobats
and whip-crackers, while other stalls sell the usual crafts, clothes
and souvenirs.

When reading recipes, I have noticed that "Hawaiian" in almost every
case means it has pineapple as an ingredient, implying that Hawaiians
don't eat anything that doesn't include it.

Pulled pork is something which I have never come across except in
certain parts of USA - S Carolina and nearby states.  Definitely a
scrumptious local speciality!

A long time since I have eaten something like that, although I have
seen it available here at roast potato stalls.

      Title: Carambola- Broccoli Salad
 Categories: Salads, Filipino
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      2 c  Broccoli florets
    1/2 c  Thinly sliced carambola
    1/4 c  Thinly sliced red onion
    1/4 c  Currants or raisins
    1/4 c  Macadamia nuts
      2 tb Thinly sliced water
           -chestnuts
      2 tb Vanilla yogurt
      2 tb Mayonnaise
      1 ts Freshly squeezed lime juice
 
  Carambola, also known as balimbing, gaeang, five corners, and star
  fruit, is a five-sided, pale green fruit that turns yellow when ripe.
  Its English name comes from the shape of its cross sections:
  five-pointed stars. Its Tagalog name, balimbing, is also popular
  Filipino term for a hypocrite.
  
  Gently toss the broccoli, carambola, onion, currants, nuts, and water
  chestnuts, in a large salad bowl and chill for 30 minutes Blend the
  yogurt, mayonnaise, and lime juice. Fold the dressing into the salad
  or serve on the side. Serve immediately in frosted salad bowls.
