 This might have been one of those "things"
 going around, as I met a lady in my Farmers
 Market who described the same thing hitting
 her family. I got something else making the
 rounds, a respiratory disease a lot like flu
 (though I did have my flu shot, and so did
 my Mom who got it,too.) I have contacted
 people in Ohio and Virginia who seem to have
 had the same thing. Also had a bout with
 conjunctivitis at the same time, which
 might be one of the "disease of the month"
 choices. Sorry I have been out of contact
 so long, but as I got sick while on vacation
 in Alabama, where I have no Internet
 possibilities and had to delay my return, I am
 way behind. I had to delay return because my
 Mom got sent to the hospital for observation
 because of our illness. Rough on me, dangerous
 for her, I guess. She's home again and fine,
 BTW.

 It's black humor, but your account reminded
 me that regardless of how bad I felt being
 sick, I could have been worse! I hope you
 are tiptop today!

 I'll attach a recipe for something I enjoyed
 at my brother's home for Christmas (where Mom
 and I caught our ailment).

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

      Title: Spiced Cranberry-Orange Mold
 Categories: Relishes, Side dish, Fruits
      Yield: 10 Servings

      2 pk Jello Raspberry Flavor
           -Sugar-Free Gelatin
    1/4 t  Salt
  1 1/2 c  Boiling water
     16 oz Whole berry cranberry sauce
    1/2 c  Cold water
      1 T  Lemon juice
    1/4 t  Ground cinnamon
    1/8 t  Ground cloved
      1    Orange, peeled, sectioned
           -and finely chopped

     Completely dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water. Add
  cranberry sauce, cold water, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloved. Chill
  until slightly thickened. Stir in orange. Spoon into 5-cup mold which
  has been lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Chill until
  firm, about 4 hours. Unmold. Garnish if desired.

  Makes about 5 cups or 10 servings.
