My Brother in Law has also played the St Andrews courses, and gave me a 
bag tag from the "Old Course" as a gift.  I came to golf late in life (in my
30's) 
and found that I really enjoyed being on the course and didn't really get 
upset when I got bad scores (grin) .

It can be a tremendously frustrating game. No two days or games are the 
same! One day you do everything right and the next you cant do ANYTHING 
right (grin) My goal was to break 90 when I played and I felt good when I 
managed to do it (which was NOT most of the time). But the best part was 
being out in what amounts to a big park to walk in, wonderfully landscaped 
and beautifully laid out and maintained. I don't think it's a game where you 
can be ambivalent about whether you like it or not...you either really do or 
you simply can't see the point of it (grin).

I love making brusnwick stew...but did you notice that although there is 
ground beef listed in the category line there's none mentioned in the recipe?

->   3 1/2 lb Chicken, cut up
->       2 sl Bacon, cut into 2 inch
->            -pieces
->       1 lg Onion. sliced
->       1 ts + 2 tsp salt
->      28 oz Can whole tomatoes OR 3 lg
->            -fresh tomatoes, peeled
->       2 lg Potatoes, cubed
->      10 oz Pkg frozen butter beans, OR
->       1 c  Fresh
->     1/2 ts Sugar
->     1/2 ts Black pepper
->            -Dash red pepper
->      16 oz Pkg frozen corn
->       2 tb Butter, melted
->       2 tb Flour
->  
->   In a 5 quart heavy pot place 1 quart of water, the chicken,
->   bacon, onion and 1 tsp of salt, and cook for 1 1/2 hours over
->   mdm-low heat.  Remove the chicken, cool; skin and remove the meat
->   from the bones.  Cut the meat into bite size pieces and return to
->   the pot.  Add 2 tsp salt, tomatoes, potatoes, butter beans,
->   sugar, and peppers. Cook for 30 minutes.  Add the corn and cook
->   for another 30 minutes.  Mix the butter and flour and add to the
->   stew; simmer for 30 minutes more. Serve with hot rolls and a
->   green salad.
