  Both of them do -- I think that we would need to be pretty desparate
  to visit either one of them again.   When I was in Florida before my
  mother died, she and I went to a Cracker Barrel and I had a pretty
  good dish of chicken and dumplings.   Since then I have ordered the
  same dish at other CBs and it came out mediocre at best -- semi-raw
  bisquick and pasty canned gravy.

  Have you ever been there?  It is supposed to be a pretty good German
  restaurant (said Carol?).   One of these days we might get over there
  to try it, even though it is a bit out of our normal range.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Swedish Sailor's Stew
 Categories: Beef, Dinner, Easy, Stew, Thrifty
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
  1 1/2 lb Chuck Steak -- Cut Into
           Cubes
      2 lb Potatoes -- Cubed
      2 tb Butter Or Margarine
      3    Onions -- Sliced
           Salt And Pepper
      2 c  Boiling Water
      2 tb Chopped Parsley
 
  1. Heat the butter or margarine in a large saucepan and saute the
  onions until golden brown.
  2. Add the meat and brown on all sides.
  3. Add the potatoes, salt and pepper to taste, boiling water and
  parsley. Mix well.
  4. Cover lightly and cook over a gentle heat for 3 hours or until
  meat is tender.
  Serves 4-6.
