Could I suggest that you go into the Small Pet Accessory Supply
business?  A limestone grinder, thermostatically controlled hot rocks,
gecko caves, humidifiers, lizard ponds, the dry grass (for snakes to
be in), vivariums, tadpole food, "How to care for your..." books, etc.

I believe that cricket fightng is a popular hobby in Thailand.  You
could popularise that sport in YK.  I think that they breed readily.
Ask Carol B, as she has had unwilling experience in raising crickets.
Or MLoo, who was also involved.

I don't know about your gecko, but the ones I have spent long years
watching perform on my insect screens display the physical evidence of
their "male-ness" quite clearly - like dogs.  Neekha would probably
consign the males to the garbage once she saw how "cave man" their
seduction tactics were.  The horny male waits until the female is
engrossed in dining on a moth, then rushes up behind her, grabs the
scruff of her neck in his mouth to stop her running away, then kicks
her tail to one side so he can have his evil way with her.

      Title: Octopus Fritters
 Categories: Native, American, Squid
      Yield: 8 Servings
 
      2    Octopuses weighing about 1
           -1/2 pounds each, cleaned
      1 ts Salt
      2 qt Water
      2 qt Ice water with ice
      2 md Onions, peeled and minced
      2    Eggs, beaten
      1 c  Flour or more as needed
           Salt and pepper to taste
           Oil for frying
 
  Drop the octopus into a large kettle with rapidly boiling salted
  water. Cook on medium-high heat for about 25 minutes. Drain and
  plunge into a bowl filled with ice and ice water. With a coarse brush
  scrape away all of the purple skin. Cut off the legs and chop fine.
  Discard the heads. In a bowl mix together onions, eggs, flour and
  salt and pepper. Add the chopped octopuses, and blend well. Form
  mixture into 2 1/2 - 3 inch flat patties. Heat about 1/2 inch of oil
  in a large heavy skillet, and fry the octopus fritters until well
  browned on each side. Serve immediately.
