I tend to agree with Dale.  Our friends the Bouwens have a Cardinal that
attacks the mirror on the driver side of their car.  The bird certainly
isn't trying to enter in, he just wants to kill the bird he sees.  In the
process he "leaks" all down the side of the car...... hmmmmm. perhaps he's
beating the crap out of the mirror image.   

The Cardinal has done it for years, and covering the mirror with a sock had
been the only way they could stop it.  Jake got tired of that after 3 or 4
years, and being a country boy he adjusted the bird's attitude with a .22

      Title: Pork Cardinal Style
 Categories: 
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      9 oz Apricots,dried
      2 tb Brandy
      1 ds Pepper
      1 ds Thyme
      1 ds Garlic powder
      2 tb Oil
     18 oz Pork filets
      1 ds Salt
  1 1/2 oz Butter
      6 oz Heavy Cream
      2    Rice Cooking Bags, Instant
 
  The day before, cover the dried apricots with water, and cook until
  they are soft.  Mix brandy and seasons with 1 tablespoon oil and
  brush the meat with it on all sides.  Let it set for 30 minutes.
  
  Cook rice according to directions.  Heat the leftover oil and fry the
  meat in it until it is browned on all sides; add salt; take out meat
  and keep it warm.
  
  Add the apricots with the juice, left over marinade, and the butter
  to the frying fat in the skillet;  stir and let cook until it is
  reduced a little.
  
  Add the cream and taste sauce and season more if necessary.   Cut meat
  into slices and serve on rice with the apricots.
