I'd imagine the answer would be yes. I try not to buy Nabisco
products ever since that concern merged with the R. J. Reynolds
tobacco company. Of course, it is very difficult to get anything
untainted by that kind of drug money nowadays.

Don't be a sophist! The answer to that would be "most certainly yes,
and don't forget it, me lad."

That would have to be extreme beyond my imagination. There are
lots of extremely crowded habitats that haven't produced that
particular adaptation.

An interesting thought. How did bats start off. Well, maybe they
were extremely ugly squirrels, and the cute squirrels kicked
them out of the trees, and instead of crashing to the ground,
they grasped whatever branches they could find, spinning around
and ending upside down, and they discovered they liked that.
But still the cute squirrels persecuted them, so the ugly guys
had to hide in caves where nobody could see them.

Herbed leg of lamb
cat: main
servings: 8

1 shank end half leg of lamb (4-5 lb)
6 lg garlic cloves
1 1/2 ts dried lavender buds
1 Tb fresh thyme leaves
2 Tb sea salt
2 Tb mixed peppercorns
1 Tb dried rosemary
1 Tb herbes de Provence
h - spicy mint sauce
8 oz jar mint jelly
1 sm jalapeno, seeded and minced (or tt)
2 Tb dark rum

Lavender, garlic, and rosemary leg of lamb with
spicy mint sauce

Oven at 450F.

Remove fell and excess fat from lamb leg. Prick
leg in 15 places, evenly spaced.

Process garlic, lavender, and thyme to a thick
paste. Introduce into the 15 slits in the lamb.

Grind salt, peppercorns, rosemary, and herbes de
Provence to a coarse mix. Rub lamb leg evenly
with mixture.

Roast lamb at 450F for 15 min; lower heat to 350F
and roast about 1 hr or until done as desired.
Let rest out of the oven for 15 min before carving.

For the mint sauce: combine all ingredients over
medium heat. Cook until liquid and warmed through,
about 5 min.

Carve lamb parallel to bone in long thin slices and
arrange on a platter. Serve sauce on the side.
