That is gratuitous, untrue and mean spirited. I do not condemn others 
popularity or presentation out of hand with broad sweeping 
generalizations - rather I gather what bits of information and/or 
knowledge I can use ... seemingly unlike you as you make pronouncements 
of the worthiness of various celebrities from somewhere behind the lint 
in your navel.

Emeril is a good example - I have learned a lot from his shows. You 
go out of your way to condemn him roundly every chance you get. I admit 
freely that not all his stuff works and I am pretty sick of some of his 
repetitive schtick. You on the other hand seem to be stuck on not 
admitting that he ever does anything worthwhile. Which seems like a 
closed mind to me.

I have picked up some decent information from watching Sandra Lee and 
some confirmations that I had it right on several short-cuts that I use 
from time to time. I generally glaze over and blow off the decorating 
and fashion crap she touts ... but, then, I have always done so whether 
it is some "chef" decorating a plate and stacking minimalist "food" in 
an artistic manner or Marfa Stewart (another I have learned much from) 
decorating and stock tips.

Hell, I even get useful information from Katherine Dalemans.

So, saying, or implying that I have a closed mind is gratuitous, untrue 
and mean spirited. If you are religious - recall the parable of casting 
the first stone. If you are not religious take my advice and never move 
into a glass house.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Marta's Green Chile Sauce
 Categories: Sauces, Chilies
      Yield: 3 servings
 
      8    Tomatillos (about golf ball
           -size); remove husks
      2 lg Ripe tomatoes
      3    Jalapeños; or more
      1 md Onion; chopped fine
      1 cl Garlic; minced
      2 tb Fine chopped cilantro
 
  In a saucepan, cover the tomatillos with water. Bring to
  boil and reduce heat, cover and gently simmer about 10
  minutes or until very tender. In another pan, bring the
  tomatoes and jalapeños to a boil and simmer five or ten
  minutes. (The skins will slip off after they are done.)
  
  Drain and tomatillos and tomatoes, but reserve some of
  the tomatillo cooking water. Puree the tomatillos and
  tomatoes, along with the garlic. Use a little of the
  reserved cooking water from the tomatillos to smooth
  it out, if you like. Add the chopped onion and the
  finely chopped fresh cilantro. If the sauce is too
  thick, you can add chicken broth to get the desired
  consistency.
  
  This Salsa Verde is the basis for Green Enchiladas,
  Pork Guisado and other recipes calling for green sauce.
