Not in my kitchen nor ever likely to be. If someone asked me to try it at a
cook-fest, I'd look a little confused but do so.  Then I'd water the plants or
something with the rest I bet <g>.

Me too.  It might not be as good as 'fresh' but when you cant get it at all,
trying something like that would appeal to me muchly.

It doesnt.  I even recognize the brand name there.  From memory, the broth is
pretty good to make into gravy with just a little flour ad the rest is just a
slightly salty 'can of chicken' with bones still in.  Add fresh veggies and
some pasta and you can make pretty good 'home made chicken soup' with less
trouble than using a frozen one.  Results are actually quite acceptable and
the price is decent enough that it's not a bad deal at all.

If I could find it here, it would be an item we'd stock unless they've
increased the sodium to above acceptable amounts for Don's diet.  I even have
a simple recipe for 'chicken and dumplings' (fresh made rolled out long noodle
dumplings vice the round ones) where by the time the canned chicken is heated
all through (I debone first, others do not) the time to make the noodles is
just finished and you add them in then let simmer 5-8 mins and eat.

Sorry if I seem overly familiar with this one, but it really *is* a useful
timesaver and with minimal adaption, quite acceptable in taste.  That it's
cost is only a tiny bit more than a whole frozen one, doesnt hurt at all.  It
was about 10cents a lb more if that?  For a precooked 2 lb or so chicken, I
recall it as about 25 cents more than a frozen one but you also got good broth
so I discount for that.  Don recalls them too.  Says they were 'ok' (not
great, just ok enough he didnt mind them).  I suggest if any see them, get a
can and think of any recipe that uses pre-cooked chicken or a soup.

This is one you probably have to know what to do 'with' to make sense of. We
see things like this out here all the time and have learned to use them in
'congee' for example where the firmer texture is a benefit.  Alone, they would
be no worse than a dried squid which is pressed flat and looks a bit like a
plate.
