Actually, an integration between left and right, the one
doing the counting and the other doing the hunches. When
they work together, beautiful things can happen - in music
as well as mathematics (I'm sure Dale could vouch for this).

I'd walked by the wine rack in question a dozen times
without thinking "oh, let's steal some." There are
dishonesties I'd consider, but stealing from my host
isn't high on the list.

I looked him up on the Internet. Neither. He's now a
[redacted because I did a quick search using just two
words from the sentence I deleted, plus information
already here, and discovered to my surprise that his
name came up in the top 5 results - but think ultimate
irony and you can find him in short order].

Other Ruth, you can be afraid now of Big Brother watching.

I dunno, never having been into either state secrets or selling
stuff. The claim is made that everybody has his price, but I
guess some bodies are cheaper than others. It's the job of the
intelligence services (ours as well as theirs) to find bargains
of this sort.

Now if you'd stay up all night and then walk to Laie to
watch the sun rise, that would be living on the edge!

Caesar salad?

Potato-anchovy salad
cat: salad, main
servings: 10 to 12

3 lb red waxy potatoes
1/2 Tb salt
1 hard-boiled egg
1 Tb white wine vinegar
3 Tb sour cream
3 Tb oil
10 anchovy fillets canned in oil, drained
6 scallions
s, p

Boil potatoes in salted water about 20 min.
Drain and let cool.

Whisk yolk of hard-boiled egg with vinegar;
whisk in sour cream and oil.

Mince egg white and anchovies. Slice 4 scallions
thinly. Whisk all into egg yolk mixture.

Quarter potatoes. Combine with dressing.
Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a
serving dish. Slice remaining scallions thinly
and scatter on top.
