When last I had balls, to eat I mean, they were pretty tender.
Much like white chicken, they got their flavor from the breading,
the fat, and the salt and pepper. That was either at Coors Field
or at Bruce's in the appropriately named Severance, Colorado. At
one of these the "Rocky Mountain oysters" were served with a
sauce of pickled jalapenos, which sort of made me sick, because
in ingesting enough capsaicin to make my mouth tingle, I had to
also absorb a whole lot of acetic acid.

Yum! But Carol has emphasized that lips that touch cicadas, etc.

I've heard that the culinarily and ethically proper way to deal
with cicadas is to pick them as they emerge from the ground, put
them into a plastic bag, and freeze them before cooking.

The main effect of this concert for me was that the group in
question took away a couple of the better players who normally
would have been playing the concert I was in.

Monkey Tails
cat: snack
servings: 6

3 lg bananas
2 tb orange juice
6 oz chocolate chips
1 tb Crisco
6 Popsicle sticks

Cut bananas in half and peel. Insert stick. Brush with
orange juice. Freeze until firm. Combine chips and Crisco
over low heat until melted. Cool slightly. Spoon over
bananas. Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze until
ready to eat.
