Snicker, my whole HS from 10-12 grade was 250 or a bit less.  We were so small,
we didnt have a 'Senior Prom' but a JR/SR mixed one to make it so we had
enough of us.  Sophmores allowed if you were dating them.  College students
allowed if you were dating them <g>.  Counting the teachers and their spouses,
we'd manage to get about 200 folks to the Prom.

My first one was great with a fellow named Sumio Seo. (At that time, I didnt
even know I'd go military, much less ever be blessed with living in Japan many
years).  Mr Seo taught at Clemson university (I come from Clemson) and was the
only local japanese family.  My dress was messed up at the hem ad his suit was
too small, but we had a lovely time.

My second one, was a bust.  I was working at Mcdonalds, going to college at
night, and only in class the first 3 periods of the day (had option to
graduate at 11th grade but opted for one more year).  I ended up going with
the only boy who asked and he wasnt very compatible it turned out.  Wanted me
to be a show-piece on his arm and a very controlling fellow.  I've mercifully
forgotten his name but will never forget him over-riding me at the steak place
3 times in from of the waitress to tell her i didnt really want a medium rare
steak, but a well done one.  I ended up calling my Mom to come get me early
and take me home.  I can laugh about it now, but at the time it was pretty
awful.  (The only saving grace was no one blamed me at all.  He was a new guy
and no one knew he was that bad of an idiot).  Hindsight, what I should have
done was asked Hugh Gourlay out.  He had just figured out he was gay but he
still wanted to go to the prom.  Only, I didnt know that and he stayed home
that last year becasue he didnt have a date.

I went on to party with Hugh in college and we were good friends until I left
for the Navy in 1983.  In 1983, there was no 'AOL' or 'ISP' or email for
common use.

      Title: Burmese Roast Duck
 Categories: Burmese, Duck
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      2 tb Worcestershire sauce
      1 tb Starch,dissolved in
      2 tb Water
      2 tb Light Soy sauce
      1 ts Sugar
      4 lb Long Island Duck
 
  Combine the first three ingredients, coat the duck and let stand 2
  hrs. Fill a steamer pan with water 1 1/2" deep. Place duck on rack
  breast side up, reserving marinade . Cover, bring water to boil and
  steam 30 min. Skim fat from steaming juice and reserve. Preheat oven
  to 400 F. Transfer duck to a baking dish and brush with reserved
  marinade. Roast uncovered 15 min. Lower heat to 350 and roast a
  further 40 min. Remove duck to a cutting board. Skim and discard fat
  from the pan juices. In a small pan, combine reserved steaming and
  roasting juices, bring to a simmer, add the starch mix and cook,
  stirring, until thickened. Cut the wings, legs and thighs at the
  joints, split the back in half and the breast into quarters. Arrange
  pieces on a platter and top with the gravy.
