I remember now. When my friends Annie and Billy lived in Denver,
we used to go to watch Rockies games and, coincidentally, chow
down on bull balls, which were okay, but the jalapeno relish
made them at first much better and then much less better. The
things were better in general at Bruce's, which I went to with
Joell and Larry as well as Annie and Billy and perhaps some
others.

I must admit that about half a pound was enough for me: muscle
meat I can take much more of. Part of it is the intrinsic richness
and cholesterolity of the meat, part the fried aspect. Also it's
a fairly bland meat.

Indeed. Especially in the company of friends: I would not be a
party to splitting up the group into baseball fans versus non-
baseball fans. Especially if we could afford the lower boxes,
from where I can actually see the ball from time to time. But
Dale reminds us that it is in fact Cal Ripken appreciation
weekend, when Le Tout Baltimore will be vying for spots. 

Bread pudding
cat: dessert
servings: 4

4 c pieces of white bread, French bread, and/or croissant
1 c sugar
3 c milk
2 Tb cinnamon
1 Tb nutmeg
1 ts vanilla
6 Tb butter
1 1/2 confectioners' sugar
3 Tb rum

Combine first 6 ingredients well, and turn into 9x13"
baking dish. Bake until firm at 350F.

For sauce: melt butter and add confectioners' sugar,
stirring until a white paste forms. Stir in rum.
