Enough folks wanting to go is important. I can't see it
for a main event event, as it looks like Friday through
Sunday are going to fill up rapidly. Nonetheless, I did
a touch of research, finding that minor league ball is
alive and well in Maryland. Here's a list of what's
happening around the picnic weekend. Not to advocate
anything, but if people were just happening to pass by a
stadium on their way to and from ...

 IronBirds game, sit in the  Party Pavilion and enjoy a
 game while eating Maryland's finest delicacy!

 For only $39 per person you will receive the ticket to
 the game along with an all-you-can-eat buffet that
 includes Maryland Steamed Crabs, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs,
 Corn on the Cob, and non-alcoholic drinks for two hours
 from the start of the catering or through the 7th inning
 (whichever comes first).

Aberdeen is 54 miles northeast of Casa Shipp via highway,
but the route goes through Baltimore.

Advantages: supposedly a very nice stadium; possible crab feast.
Disadvantages: distance, plus inconvenient route through city.
Possible for people heading north after the picnic.
