The chances are pretty good of an eventual fair
distribution, unless there's some fluid dynamic issue
we haven't thought of. Or maybe the molecules have some
affinity, mystic or otherwise, that prevents them from
behaving in a completely random way (I'm not putting
this forward as a likelihood, but others have). I've
been thinking about the shaking salt and pepper together
(or sugar and cinnamon) in a jar - it takes a heck of
a lot of combining before there's a fairly uniform
distribution of light and dark; and further, if you
keep agitating, bands of color will return. Maybe it's
like shuffling a deck of cards perfectly - if you do
7 perfect shuffles in a row, you will come up with the
exact arrangement as in the beginning.

 SD> Yeah, that makes sense.  It's also similar to the discussion of
 SD> "drinking the same water Hitler did".
 
But making the assumption of perfect mixing that the article
did (which I am not doubting all that seriously) we probably
have drunk the same water Hitler/Jesus/Rita Hayworth did. Worse,
we probably have drunk the same water they peed.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Ox Kidney in Wine with Bacon
 Categories: Offal, French, Duets
      Yield: 2 Servings

    155 g  Beef- ox kidneys
      2 tb Butter
      4 sl Bacon- rashers
           -cut into strips
      1 c  Mushrooms- button
           -sliced
           Salt
           Pepper- black
           -freshly ground
      2 tb Wine- brandy
           -warmed
      6 tb Wine- red [USE A GOOD WINE!]
      6 tb Stock- chicken or beef
      4 tb Cream- double

  Start the recipe 2 hours before serving.

  Soak the kidneys in water fo at least 1 hour.

  Drain the kidneys, trim out any membrane then cut the kidneys into
  slices about 1.25cm or 1/2" thick. Heat the butter until it is
  foaming, add the kidney and bacon and stir-fry for a moment or two.
  Then add the mushrooms and season.

  Pour over the warmed brandy, light and allow the spirit to burn
  itself out, shaking the pan until it does. Add the wine, bring to the
  boil, then add the stock.

  Pour everything into a small casserole dish, cover and cook in a
  preheated oven @ 150^C/300^F for approximately 35 to 40  minutes,
  until kidney is tender. Then bring the cream to the boil in a small
  frypan, pour in the kidney sauce, stir well and reduce over a high
  heat to a good consistency. Check the seasoning and pour back over
  the kidneys, bacon and mushrooms.
