You have a separate line for your DSL??? Whatever for? Voice and DSL 
piggy back quite nicely. And if my phone rings it is ALWAYS voice. You 
DSL should never affect your ringer on your regular (wired) phone.

My ring tone on the land line is determined by the instrument I am 
using. My Uniden (cordless handset) sounds different from my AT&T 
(brand) hard-wired handset phone ... which I only use in power outages.

If you don't have a separate line for DSL and I have picked up the mooky 
end of the stick - as I am wont to do sometimes ... excuse the snippy 
questions, please.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Spring Onion Risotto
 Categories: Rice, Vegetables
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      5 c  Vegetable broth
      2 c  Water
      1 tb Olive oil
    1/4 c  Chopped green garlic
           -=OR=-
      2 cl Garlic; sliced
    1/2 c  Chopped shallots
    1/2 c  Chopped spring onion
      1 ts Coarse salt; plus more to
           - taste
  1 1/2 c  Carnaroli or Arborio rice
      1 c  Dry white wine
    1/4 c  Minced chives
      3 tb Butter
    1/4 c  Pecorino or Parmesan cheese
           - (opt)
    1/2    Lemon; juiced
 
  Fine-flavored shallots and green garlic are subtle in this creamy
  risotto by Chronicle contributor Amanda Berne. In a pinch, any type of
  onion can be used, just make sure to chop it fine and saute until the
  sweetness comes out.
  
  Combine the broth and water in a medium saucepan, place over medium
  heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
  
  Heat the olive oil in a large, wide pot over moderate heat. Add the
  green garlic, shallots, onion and 1 teaspoon salt. Saute until the
  vegetables are soft, but not colored. Add the rice and stir constantly
  until it is hot, about 3 minutes. Add the wine and cook until it
  evaporates, then begin adding the hot broth, 1/2 cup at a time. Stir
  and only add more when the previous addition has been absorbed. With
  each new addition, stir to distribute the broth and allow the rice to
  absorb the liquid. This should take about 19-25 minutes, depending on
  the rice. If you run out of broth before the rice is cooked — it
  should be creamy, but still have a little bite in the center — add
  hot water; don't add more broth.
  
  When the rice is almost finished, stir in the chives, butter, cheese
  and lemon juice. Taste, and season with salt if needed. Serve
  immediately.
  
  Serves 4
