Grin, typo.  Macaroni and Cheese thing.  Looked alot like the standard cheap
noodle cups.  There might be such stateside now, but there wasnt when I left.

Sasebo of course is too small for such frilly items at the commisary. Our
choices are the fancy velveta or the cheap kraft boxes (or make your own from
scratch like I often do).

One of the reasons why I 'scratch cook' so much here, is our options are
limited.  Take wanting a simple french or italian bread roll.  We have some
frozen stuff at something like 3.50$ (and it's not a very big roll) or you can
make your own.  If i want a kaiser hard roll, I have to make it as they simply
do not sell them here.  

You know those little donuts covered with chocolate in the white box?  We get
them frozen here and thats the *only* type we get unless we go out in
town(they have a Dunkins in the Ginza and now that i think of it, at our
food-court).

Now, for everything we don't have here, we have access to something else we
have learned to love and will miss, but it seems about even.

I really really would have loved to live in Korea for a bit, for the foods they
have at their markets.  Just shopping in their markets as a visitor is fun! 
OZ was also unique in that is was so 'close but not quite the same'.  The
differences were more subtle and often just a brand name difference it seemed.
 It helped though having read Glen's notes over time.

The 2 things I looked for there I didnt find, but Glenn said they were rare
items and I didnt have long to peruse the shelves (my buddies quite reasonably
wanted to party vice wander a grocery store!).
