May be either one then.  Do you recall the brand name?  I gather the bottle is

Tends to be that the good 'asian grocery' type stores are that sort of area. 
They arent flashy but they are fun to shop in and the prices are usually very
good.

Ok!  Heres a run down of my own on sauces to look for.

For any version of anything:  Trust Datu Puti brand to be considerably lowere
in sodium than anything else of that same genre but better tasting.  Things I
have here:  Soy sauce and a spiced vinigar (has green chiles, garlic, and
other things in the bottle).

For fish sauce:  Tiparos is really good.  It's a product of Malaysia (Datu Puti
is from Pasig philipennes). This is 'patis' and there are many things on the
market called 'patis' but Tiparos is much lower in sodium with a higher 'fish
flavor' to it.  Used in moderation:  Good stuff.

For sesame oil:  Dynasty brand (Japn and has a local California sites as well).
 My Japan brand is very good.  I am told you cant tell the difference with the
Califoria version.  I have had other ones even better here, but the labels are
in Japanese so cant tell you if they are exported or not.

For Oyster sauce:  Again Dynasty but this time no relation to same company. 
Oops.  Thre Tiparaos is product of THailand.  This one is product of Malaysia.
 Then again, I've found USA based oyster sauces fine.  Tip the bottle and the
thickest one is the one you want (grin).  The good ones actually have very
ittle sugar in them.  USA ones have alot more sugar in them (HFCS probably).
